Recommendation: “A New Earth” by Eckhard Tolle
I have no idea where you are spiritually. Because you are at this blog, I’m assuming (a dangerous act) that you are interested in spiritual growth and becoming all you can be in this life.
Based on this assumption, I want to tell you about an absolutely awesome book that I’m reading. It’s called “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose.” It’s written by Eckhart Tolle (”The Power of Now”) and is one of the most thought-provoking books I’ve read in a long time.
If you are interested in living a truly fulfilling life, connecting to higher consciousness, finding a peace that passes all understanding, and playing a role in the spiritual evolution of our planet, then I highly recommend you read this book.
I do want to qualify my recommendation, however, by saying that if you are just starting on your spiritual (not religious) pathway, the contents of the book may be difficult to grasp. Only you can make that determination. You may want to read some of the 563 (at last count) reviews on Amazon.com before you make a decision.
I would also like to mention that Oprah Winfrey (this is one of her Book Club selections) is conducting a worldwide live web event over the next several weeks in which she and Eckhart are expanding on the teachings of the book. It’s all free and you can read more about it here: http://www2.oprah.com/index.jhtml
I would love for you to share your thoughts about this book by leaving a comment below.
someone loaned my his tapes from his first book the power of now years ago and on one of those tapes was him stating we have fallen from the grace of god. I swear i heard him say that on tape. could not find it in the book but iIreplayed that tape several times to make sure i heard him right.
he said it. something he had learned in sunday school no doubt.
but then I have learned in my research that even most enlightened hindu masters bring their childhood teachings with them even after enlightenment.
